Confirm your own plan
Ask who will administer and monitor anesthesia, what preparation is required and how recovery will be supervised. The anesthesia name should appear in the written proposal.
Discuss your health
Share previous reactions, sleep-related breathing concerns, allergies and all medicines with the clinical team. Let the clinician provide specific instructions for eating, drinking and medication use.
Arrange discharge
Ask whether an accompanying adult is required, how you will return to your hotel and whom to contact after hours. Awake treatment is not a reason to skip discharge instructions.
